Why we are here

Because youth should be at the forefront of political and social change.

Since Global Platform El Salvador was launched in 2008, our vision has always been to inspire young women and men on how to become global citizens who fight for a world where everybody can participate in shaping their own future and participate in local and global decision-making.

Who we are here for

It’s for everybody – no matter your background.

All our trainings are based on 6 key principles which we believe are the ingredients required for people to transform themselves into inspired change makers:

Who we work with

Global Platform El Salvador is a project between the Comité de Desarrollo Social Económico de las Comunidades de Suchitoto (CRC) and ActionAid Denmark. We also work closely together with ActionAid Nicaragua and plenty of other local and regional organizations in Central America. Red Activista El Salvador is another of our close partner organizations – they are a global movement for youth who fights for social change.

We are always open to get in contact with new people and organizations to work on new projects, campaigns or trainings.

Organizations we have worked with in El Salvador and Central America:

Colectiva Feminista

How to get here - by Bus
There are two ways to get to the platform by bus. The easiest option is to get the bus number 129 from San Salvador (from Terminal de Oriente). It goes via San Martín and terminates in Suchitoto. The bus leaves every 15 minutes.
Another option is to get the bus number 163 from San Salvador (from Terminal de Oriente) to Suchitoto via Aguilares. The bus leaves every 40 minutes.
How to get here - by car
The distance from San Salvador to Suchitoto is 47 kilometers and takes around 50 minutes by car. However this depends very much on the traffic as the route can be quite busy at times.
Go by Boulevard del Ejército (also known as Carretera Panamericana) and, when arriving near the city of San Martín, turn slightly to the right. The road makes a turn to the left, thus reaching a detour that goes over the road. Straight after you will see a sign that says Suchitoto. Then, turn right and go to the city of San Martín. From there you can follow any sign that leads to Suchitoto.
